Future Planning

Where will your kids be in 2020? Where will America be in 2010? Where will you be in 2008? Life is short and there isnt much to it when compared to eternity. The difficulty is that were not doing any planning whatsoever, or very little. Is anyone thinking about the future when we keep cutting down the rain forests or consider what that means when there arent any? How long will that take? How much longer before we have polluted the rivers, streams, and oceans beyond recovery? Whats the problem here? Theres no future planing!

Were acting like our kids, not adults!

Who would think of giving their thirteen year old child the keys to a car that theyve never driven? In essence weve empowered ourselves with the splitting of the atom. Weve taken the keys to the car (metaphor for taking our lives in our own hands) and were out on the highway of life with a bunch of other people who have never driven a car before. What damage we dont do to ourselves, others will!

We need a lot more maturity to handle our resources: whats left of them.

Were rebelling against nature, the very thing that sustains our life. Were leaving the lights on and making trips here and there that we need not all the while refusing to see how much electricity, gas, and energy were wasting. Were more into how we look on the outside than we are on whats really lurking on the inside. How long before the pent up rage breaks out?

And in this war in terror how many others must we kill before weve wiped out terror (in them)? For a father who just lost his wife and two children to collateral bombing by American planes, who does he think the aggressor and terrorist is? You know the answer.

There seems to be no future planning, just current living.

Unless we begin looking down the road and take ourselves off of the over-stimulation of instant gratification, the future may not be there. Remember, weve empowered ourselves with the ability to put dirty bombs in suitcases and wipe out a small city in a matter of days. And thats just one example.

May slow down and give some thoughts to where all this crazy living is leading!
