Miles for on-board duty-free purchases?

January 6th, 2009 by anonym
  • I can't think of too many FFP's granting miles for on-board duty free purchases. There are times a few miles could help justify an impulse purchase http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

A number of airlines from smaller countries (with a single hub airport) grant miles on some items purchased at their hub, e.g. KL at AMS, KE in Seoul, etc.

As far as purchases on board, I recall:
    - SN
    - VS
    - LX (until last month)

Any others? Do partner FFP's qualify?

  • VS - but not for an impulse purchase, you have to order in advance.

  • Inflight shopping om LH:

    500 bonus M&M miles for 125- 250,--
    1.000 bonus M&M miles for 250,-- - 400,--
    2.000 bonus M&M miles for 400,-- & up

  • qantas gives a stingy 1 mile per dollar
sadly in their program its only worth half of a normal mile
so every hundred dollars in purchases gives you 50 miles
thats a long way to a free ticket
    sigh!

Yes, and if you tell Singapore Airlines you want their catalog, they'll gladly mail you one to order from http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif
