Bacita?

Looking at AN arrivals today, there are two flights from some place called Bacita that were cancelled:
AN5392 at 12:30pm, then AN5390 at 1pm. What does this all mean?

No they had matching departures for the arrivals. I doubt it was fear of flying because they get on a normal revenue pax service eg: MEL-SYD at the end of their course. They also spend time at the airport prior to this trip and visiting maintenance. Well they used to anyway - the program has changed in recent years. I was lucky enough to accompany a group to one of the airport sessions some years back. Only thing I wasn't afraid, but I did get to sit in the right hand seats for taxi of -RMF and -HYE!! woohoo http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

The flight numbers are in the regional series, but it could be anything. Maybe a trip to/from maintenance or some such. Perhaps BACINTA is an organisation name (Big Adelaide Children In Northern Teritory Awareness?) http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

It can't be a mistake, because the same flights are on Adelaide arrivals again today, the only difference being that today they arrived!! This is weird though:

What the hell is THIS doing on an ADL arrivals screen?

Sounds like an arrivals goofup to me...

Sorry...no help, but I don't think anyone else has any idea either...

You say there are these flights arriving from Bacita..... But are there any flights departing to Bacita?

Maybe it's somewhere in the Twilight Zone, where planes depart but never arrive. Spooky.
