Changed hyperlinks

January 7th, 2009 by cfz
  • I have a workbook with a few thousand worksheets. Each worksheet has several hyperlinks pointing either to .pdf files or Word files. The sub-folders containing these files are in the same folder as the Workbook. For some reason the paths of ALL of the hyperlinks have changed. I'm told this might have happened during some maintenance on the network. Is there a simple way of globally changing them all back ( that is replacing text string "A" in each hyperlink with text string "B")?

Apologies if the solution is already in the Archive - but I couldn't find it?

    Cheers

  • I'll try those - many thanks!

  • try the find/replace option, then in search field type the full path that you're trying to modify and in the replace field the new full path. choose within workbook and click on replace all. that should do it :)

  • Thanks for that. But, as the text I'm searching for isn't in the cell, but just in the hyperlink (as it were) search and replace doesn;t work (or, at least, I couldn't get it to work).

    Cheers
