How do i tell if i'm anti-social or not?

  • what is the Definition for anti-social and what determines if you are socailable or not?

  • If you feel more comfortable alone, with animals or with non living things and dislike to meet people, you are anti social.

  • Technically, anti-social personality disorder means you have slow arousal of the sympathetic nervous system ("fight or flight"). It's more common label is "sociopathic".

If you are anti-social, you will have trouble understanding the emotions of others. To see for sure, have a friend try to scare you (without you knowing when or where). Bang pots and pans while you're sleeping etc. - just make sure you don't see it coming. If your reaction is slow or dulled (compared to what you or your friends think is normal), you might have the disorder.

  • Social people often get restless with too much silence - they need to feel the rush and adrenaline they get at social events.

whereas antisocial people DON'T enjoy loud places, like parties, for a certain amount of time. If music and the people stress you out and you feel "claustrophobic".
You prefer hanging out with 2 or 3 close friends instead of a large group of people.

You need "alone" time during the day, where you just relax at home and don't have to communicate with anyone.
You forget everything under pressure, but do well on your own.
It also takes you much longer to recover from stress and partying than others.

    Hope it helped :)
