LHR-USA F Class summer fares - from GBP1768++ UA (also LH codeshares) BA AA - A class

  • For those who've missed it, AA/BA/UA have extended their summer sale in First to the US.

    GBP 1768++ LON-NYC
    GBP 1998++ LON-LAX/SFO

    For a more comfortable ride, the UA fare allows for LH-operated codeshares via Germany...

    Quite a nice deal for paid F ex LHR...

    28day advance purchse (14days for AA), last travel from the UK to the US on 31AUG. 3M (12M for BA) maximum stay. Sat night min stay. Tickets have to be issued by 08JUL (or within 3 days after reservation).

    If you maximize the routing on the UA fare, you can easily pack more than 20.000 base miles in there - which yields a lot of miles in LH M/M or BD Diamond Club.

  • And 874 pounds in C
    Checking on LAN without the YQ and with the 3% discount for buying on LAN USA it comes 1840 pounds all in (just increase 70 pounds on taxes) . Not bad. Thanks OP^

  • Curious about how this stacks up as a pure mileage run....
    lets say credit to BMI 6800+ RT x 625% = 42000+ miles
    for $3600 (thru LAN w/o YQ)= 8.5 cpm.
    A smart routing would improve things, of course.

    Inversely, the miles might conservatively be valued at $ 840 @ 2 cpm,
    so RT in F for under $3K net. A bit rich for me, I would probably still
    choose to burn miles for TATL F (if you can get it !).

    And then there is the other problem of joining BMI as US resident,
    which I need to research once again.......

  • I just booked one in my Amadeus system, so the fare is definetely there.

    Keep the advance purchase or minimum stay in mind and try again on the United website. Otherwise, feel free to PM me if you need further assistance.

  • Umm... shoot. Of course, no need to upgrade!

  • Curious about how this stacks up as a pure mileage run....

    LH M&M yields more than 65.000 miles if you are already FTL or SEN - so roughly 2/3s for your SEN (re-)qualification.

    BD yields more than 125.000 miles if you are already DC Gold and above the 55K threshold.

    Quite a good value while flying in international First class. Of course it is more expensive than Y, but you ride in comfort and do not need to burn miles or upgrade certs with this fare.

    Um, if these are first class fares, why would anyone have/want to upgrade? :rolleyes:

    How do you calculate the 65k on M&M ?
    Which routing did you chose ?

  • BD yields more than 125.000 miles if you are already DC Gold and above the 55K threshold. WOW !
    Thanks for the correction.
    That does change the math....down to 3 cpm !! :p

    You can easily fit more than 20.000 miles flown into the r/t, for example by backtracking from DEN to the east coast and then over to SFO/LAX.

    UA and LH F class earns 325% with the executive bonus in M&M.

  • I am struggling to find this at all on united.com

    have I missed a special offer button somewhere?

    Steve.

  • I'm having trouble finding the fare rules. Does anyone know if you can fly to LAX/SFO via Canada on BA (and hence earning AA miles)?
