It's my 21st birthday on Saturday (yay!!!) and I am getting my very first tattoo done on the day. I am all booked in and have had my design picked for years. I have picked the Southern Cross, a group of 5 stars that are visible over the southern hemisphere and my home country of Aus. I'm getting it on my inner wrist and I am a little worried about how much it's gonna hurt. It isn't a big design, just 5 smallish black stars. I was wondering if it is going to be really really painful and around how long it will take? Any help appreciated!! I have had my tounge and nose pierced, will it be worse than those?? Ta :-)i don't think it will be really, really painful, but the inside of the wrist will be a little worse than getting a tattoo somewhere else on your body that has a little more flesh or body fat under the skin. just don't drink alcohol before you get the tattoo. the alcohol will thin your blood and you want to keep the bleeding to a minimum so that your tattoo area heals faster.
PS: Happy Brthday!I have both wrists done. Took about ten minutes for each one from the time I sat down on the table until he put the bandage on.
Both designs are small and only in black ink. I'd say it'll take about 20 minutes max. It does hurt; all tattoos do, but he'll take little breaks after doing a line so that'll give you relief. It feels like a cat scratch.
As bad as you think it'll be, divide that in half. After he does the first line, you'll be thinking, "this is no big deal!!"
The pain is definitely bearable. Happy Birthday!!well you dont want to get the tat too small b/c when you get all wrinkly itll look like a blob. and then they only go sooo deep when they put the ink into the skin. and there will be blood and if its not kept clean it will scar then nomore tat!!!!sure it going to be very painful why Rowen your body you can get an artificer tattoo and save your painIt sure hurts, should take about forty minutes, yes it will be worse than the piercings, this from a friend who had something similar.Everyones level for pain tolerance is different. My friend and I went to get tattoos one Saturday. I did not think mine hurt very much at all. She on the other hand was sick, sweating and throwing up all through hers. It just depends on how much you can handle pain.

I've never had my wrist, but I've got my ribcage and hip, and the pain is more of a dull pain that piercings, but it lasts longer. I'd say for something that small, maybe 30-45 min? good luck and enjoy!i wave a tattoo on my wrist (about the size of a deck of cards) and although it took a lil while (2hrs about), it wasn't painful.
