I need 8500 miles for Gold status on NWA. I travel from DTW or from Flint, MI, or Toledo, OH. I can't travel on the week-end of Dec 9th, can't travel on Dec. 15th or 16th. I was hoping to accomplish this for les than $500, but realize that might be unrealistic. I am completely new to this, so I appologize in advance for not knowing the tricks or missing something obvious. I have checked NWA for deals to Europe and Asia and haven't had any luck. With taxes it prices around $240. Routed through DTW you could get your miles on two of those trips. There is a one day minimum stay, so you could return on a red eye from LAX or SFO. The fare is available thru 2/15/05, but I am not sure about availablity before year end.

You might need to look at transcons, this late in the year, the availabitity for a 2 day run to Europe doesn't seem to fit the fare rules in the price range you are looking at.With those restrictions, I hope you like flying on Christmas eve and day cause that will probably be the only way to do this. If you'd have to sell your husband and kids to take a $500 MR, I definitely suggest looking at the cheaper options :D :D :D :D
