How can I rename xboxdash.xbe so I can put in its place a shortcut to XBMC? I get access denied via ftp and it doesn't work on xbmc or my dash either. Many thanks in advance :;):
P.S. My xbox is softmodded if that helps.Oh and Hicaow, didn't notice your post >.<if your using a softmod i don't recommend renaming xboxdash.xbe as this is required for the xbox to boot and most likely points to another location containing the actual dashboard files .. check the folders such as 'fonts' to see what they contain ..This is probably because that is the file that's running at the time you try to rename it (Your bootfile or dashboard)
You need to install an app that gives FTP access and load that before renaming.
Be careful though if you replace that file with something that doesn't work you might kill your box (Recoverable though).
Personally i make the shortcut and test it before renaming it to the bootable filename.
ShortyAh it's ok realised I was trying to edit the msdash file (woops!). I edited the correct one, and now my xbox loads xbmc by default :). Thanks for the help anyway ShortySco.
