I got a tattoo on my inner-forearm just about an inch back from the wrist. The first week and half it was extremely swelled up, like a giant hard/tight mosquito bite. It was very itchy, red/whitish and swollen. The past week or so the tattoo itself healed perfectly and the skin is smooth again, but the skin where the swelling was now looks darker, like a bruise, but it does not hurt like one. It seems as though it may be VERY slowly clearing up... has this happened to anyone? Will the "bruising" go away?If the "bruising" is directly off of the outline...it's called a blowout. Which means the needle penetrated too much skin and is dispersed under your second layer. Remember that "only if its directly off of the outline lines."hasnt happend 2 me but i think it could jus be a bruising.personally id get sum1 2 look at it.hope its okI have an Amy Brown fairy on my inner forearm just above my wrist and when I first got it done I had the same swollen red itchy and slow to heal issue..... that should go away. I have heard you can bruise from a tattoo if your artist doesnt "float" their needle or if you get a dry tattoo. It should also go away. I would go back to your artist or doctor to have someone look at it though...You know (or do now!;) ) that area of your arm has alot of nerves, veins, arteries. I'm sure the bruising will go away as the lower layers of your skin rise to the surface and flake off.I had that happen with me. It took about two weeks for the bruising to go away.some people take to tats differently. It's just the healing process. Just keep it clean and keep lotioning it. You'll be fine.I had some stars tattooed on my wrist months ago and the skin behind is still dark and looks bruised. and it still itches lol.The bruising will go away. The inner forearm is very sensitive and sometimes artists have a heavy hand when they tattoo. I just got two tattoos on my inner wrists and they were both VERY swollen and bruised. One of my bruises looked like the ink had smudged. :)
